Take the next step up, Ethernet is a dedicated, fixed-bandwidth, symmetric data connection

Premium Grade, High Speed Business Ethernet

Ethernet Leased lines are premium direct internet connection delivered over fibre optic cables, as opposed to the traditional broadband options that run over landlines.

Historically, Business Ethernet used to be the sole domain of large corporations, or enterprise companies, but with the increase in Cloud technology, super fast Business Ethernet is becoming more and more accessible for organisations of any size across the UK.

Business broadband, or ADSL, and even Fibre Broadband, or FTTC products do not provide dedicated circuits. In the same way that your broadband at home slows down in the evening because of the peak residential broadband use, speeds fluctuate during office hours, and that slower speed reduces your companies ability to work efficiently, and in some cases can stop a business from functioning altogether.

Business Ethernet circuits speeds do not fluctuate – you get the speed you pay for. You also get the same Upload speed as download speed – Nowadays upload speeds are as important as download speeds

Business ethernet is used to link two or more locations together.

Typically corporate offices or data centres either connected to the internet or a companies WAN.

Business Ethernet is used to connect to...

  • Link PCs and servers in different offices.

  • Connect to the internet

  • Carry phone calls

  • Enable employees to connect to work PCs from home.

Broadband is available to over 77% of UK businesses and superfast
fibre broadband is available to over 25 million premises.

Ethernet is dedicated, this means the bandwidth you need has been reserved solely for your businesses use.

  • Unrivalled network quality and reliability

As market leader in IP telephony, we know the importance of the underlying network delivering a quality, reliable voice service. Not only have we built the IP telephony services but we also supply the underlying network, giving you an unrivalled end-to-end service.

  • National network

Our national next-generation network is the product of millions of pounds of investment and provides the ideal platform for the applications and services core to your business.

  • Single supplier

Reduce your supply chain management overhead and benefit from having just one supplier, one bill and a single point of contact.

  • High-performance connections

Our services are ideal for applications that need assured throughput across a high-performance, low-latency network, underpinned by a robust Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Cost savings through convergence

We can provide voice communications and internet over a consolidated, Quality of Service (QoS) enabled network, giving significant savings without sacrificing service performance or quality.

  • Enabler for cloud services

As you move applications and services to the cloud you can feel confident that we can give you the right connection for reliable and high-quality access to these services.

Whether you’re using our Ethernet service to connect home or office workers to the internet or our voice platforms, we provide high-quality, scalable and reliable managed services.

Our Ethernet for business service has a service level agreement to fix faults on the circuit of 7-8 clock hours. The standard SLA of a broadband circuit is 40 working hours – That’s potentially an entire working week without access to your key business functions. 77% of businesses – approximately 4.2m organisations experienced connectivity failures in 2016.

Ethernet circuits are also fully managed 24/7, so many potential problems are found and resolved without the customer ever being aware of a problem, and tend to have a 99.9% availability service level. If the worst case scenario does happen, we can also provide failover options to give you alternative data solutions such as ADSL or 4G internet while a fault is being fixed.

With the impending end to ISDN2e and ISDN30e circuits, more and more voice is now over IP, and therefore the requirement for high-speed, reliable data connection has never been greater.

Fibre Ethernet

This service is delivered using end-to-end fibre optic connections and provides:

  • Options to deliver services over either 100Mbps or 1Gbps circuits
  • Symmetric speeds from <10Mbps to 1Gbps
  • Robust SLA’s around performance and availability
  • A six hour break fix time
  • 24/7 UK-based support.

    Scalability

Ethernet circuits are provided in “pipes” of either 100mbps, 1Gbps or 10Gbps, but you pay for the speed you want. For example, you could order a 10mb circuit, which is provided on a 100mb pipe. Once that is installed it is a simple operation to upgrade you to 20, 30, 50 or even 100mb as you see fit, without any new physical cabling required.

    Value

One of the reasons Ethernet circuits were only seen as products for large organisations was the monthly rental. These costs have more than halved over the years,
